Graduated in Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine of Barbacena (1992), PhD in Clinical Surgery (2001) and Free Teaching in Urology (2021) from the University of São Paulo - Faculty of Medicine of Ribeirão Preto. She was a Fellow in Pediatric Urology at Chlldren's Hospital at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (1998/1999) and Visiting Professor (Post-Doctorate) in the Department of Urology at the School of Medicine at Yale University (2018/2019). She is Full Professor of Urology at the Faculty of Medicine of the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF), where she coordinates the Interdisciplinary Research Center in Urology (NIPU) and is responsible for the Pediatric Urology sector at the University Hospital (HU/UFJF). She is Adjunct Professor of Surgical Clinic at the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences of Juiz de Fora (SUPREMA). She works as a Pediatric Urologist. Hers lines of research are in Enuresis and Lower Urinary Tract Dysfunctions in Children and Genital Diseases in Children, having supervised several master's dissertations and doctoral theses. She is a full member of the Brazilian Society of Urology (SBU), where she has coordinated the Department of Pediatric Urology, member of the American Urological Association (AUA), International Children's Continence Society (ICCS) and Sociedad Iberoamericana de Urologia Pediatrica (SIUP).
